Stole the below picture from Director 2008’s handphone. LOL! Must really thank Gabriel for taking this shot after finished trying out some new clothes in the changing room. See the broad and strong shoulders?
This photo gave me the inspiration to write something on a boring afternoon…
2008 has, like what all others are saying, coming to an end! Look across all the blogs and you will find new year resolutions. I did that for year 2008 and proud to say I achieved 6 out of 10. This year I want to see different things.
In the blogosphere, anyone can become anyone. But I’ll just be me! The path of danielliew.com will remains the same, though the place and time will be different. I’m moving on the next stage of my life. Good things surpass bad things. Anticipation lingers in my mind more than anxiety due to uncertainties. Danielliew.com will not be a money blog and will not find a niché.
Cows, oxens, and buffaloes make up a one big family. Each distinctly unique though may posses some similar traits. As we move along to the year of Ox, referring t0 2009, let us remind ourselves that no matter how different we may be -be it our skins, our religion or pov - we are still human. It’s time to be strong and steadfast with my principles but just don’t be as mad as the mad cow. Hehe.
I shall, with the grace of God, finish my masters by end of this year while working. It won’t be easy in juggling my time but I will make it through. Let’s hope the best turn up and turn out. Most of all, it’s time to run like a child in the field and never look back! The green, the wind, the sun is all set and I shall enjoy them!
Really enjoyed the steamboat dinner at UncleSeng’s house last night. His housemates and a few friends celebrated Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and school reopen in one shot. Geng! Anything also we can celebrate. Haha! Nowadays, it’s really hard to find someone as conservative and traditional (mindset) as me to click with. Hope to get to know more of such friends in my life. This type of people I paling salute and will treasure them.
You see, next year I will be getting my own income. I told myself I will only look for a relationship when I no more rely on my parents for living. Quite a number of friends have asked or at some point guessed what type of girl I would go for. Let me tell you (secretly), I would go for someone like Sarah Tancredi (real name: Sarah Wayne Callies). She’s got to look natural (no make up please) and at the same time has a brilliant mind.
Can you let me know if you happened to notice ladies with the above description? I’m likely to repay your goodness by inviting you for my wedding. =)

If there’s some good food in the vicinity of Skudai, it has to be Senai’s famous Deep Fried Pipa Duck. Living in the indulgent shadow of the holidays right now, I sprung to Senai straight away after all the fun at Desaru.
Chinese food is still the best as its richness in tastes excites all the taste buds in our tongues. Chinese food doesn’t make me sick. In fact all food, be it Malay, Indian, Dayak, Mexican, Nepal, Mexican or Vietnamese food goes well with my taste buds.
Main dish of the day - pipa duck『琵琶鸭』is deep fried to golden perfection. The skin crispy while the meat was juicy. Sweet and sour plum sauce was added to perfecting its taste. Yummy!
Next we had salted vegetable and bean curd for soup 『咸菜豆腐汤』. Shouldn’t have ordered this because we swallowed too much of sea water which is to my knowledge, salty.
Sweet and sour pork『咕噜肉』! Rich in taste and in colour, this sweet and sour pork taste good!
Yet, another dish of tofu! Claypot tofu『沙堡豆腐』. There’re some prawns, cabbage, peas, carrots and eggs to go along with the fried tofu.
A plate of sweet potato leaves『清炒蕃薯叶』goes well into our stomach. I love the stems and leaves of this vegetable. It just tastes different than other types of vegetables, I just can’t describe the texture of it.
What about you? What good food have you eaten lately? I bet you have all those turkey or steak to go along with wine during this Christmas season. Let’s make a post about it. =)
PS: It’s weekend and holiday ends at November 29 because it’s Awal Muharram (Maal Hijrah). This is the day which Muslims observe on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. Happy New Year to all Muslim friends! (Sorry for the pork..)
