Side talk: Had nothing better to do for the whole day as today is Friday, working duration has been cut short by the usual two hours as the two hours are dedicated for Muslim’s Friday prayer.

This morning I went to meet my Pakistani friend, Fiaz who just came back from Saudi Arabia, at the Structural Laboratory to have a short discussion with him prior to testing our composite slabs in another two weeks time. After the discussion, I talked to a few technicians, or should I say “tanya khabar”. The trick to success in my laboratory is that the more you “tanya khabar” the more they are willing to give you a hand when you need them.
Wanted to sweat out in my lab but because of Friday I cannot really do much. I will just wait for Monday to come so I can start experimenting with my cementitious grout, a sticky but fluid paste. Not able to get my job done I decided to stay at my cozy cubicle to read some proceeding papers and testing standards. Believe me, these few days were freaking cold! The room temperature is around 16°C, which to me is very cold. 16°C simply means that the ambient temperature is 11°C below our normal body temperature (≈37°C). Okay, my friends who are now at Norway, Kentucky or Perth may argue that the place which they are staying are colder! To be frank, I am not the kind of guy who likes to sit in an air-conditioned office/bedroom for the whole day/night.

You know what? Being too unproductive because of the freaking cold temperature in my postgraduate office, I decided I should take some lui cha (擂茶), a Hakka delicacy, for lunch. I came back for a nap after lunch. Prior to getting back to my office, I had my hair cut and washed! Went to this salon called A&E in a town nearby, I had been sticking with the same salon for almost two years. Kudos! Since I got my hair washed, it cost me another RM7 on top of the usual RM13 charges for hair cut. Worth it la…
Tada! Camwhoring! Thank God it’s Friday! Will resume with my tuition class starting tomorrow. Sunday will be my first time sharing the word of God with Form Two students who are attending Sunday School. Life is getting pretty packed with research, books, and people from all walks of life. Ciaoz… Heading to our usual choir practice.
