My fifth companion

[feeling | alive]

Roses are red, violets are blue. Sapphire is nice, so is my rosary.

This is my fifth rosary. My first rosary was given to me by my mum which was green in colour, my second rosary was given to me by my aunt which was black in colour. My third rosary was a present from another aunt which now I put it at the dashboard of my car. The first one already kaput because I prayed too much, while the second one was lost sometime last year. Prior to buying myself this sapphire rosary from Carlo CCS, Johor Bahru, I got myself one white rosary from St Anne’s Church, Bukit Mertajam.

Why sapphire? Good question… Sapphire is my birthstone to be exact… Hint: I was born in September, hence a Virgo who tries not to seek for perfection but to strive for excellence. One of the reason why I bought this rosary was in it contains holy water from Lourdes, a town situated in southwestern France. Its beauty I can’t resist. Its fine craft I can’t deny. Its sincere invitation to prayer is so strong… I am loving my fifth rosary.

Simple yet profound, the Rosary still remains, at the dawn of this third millennium, a prayer of great significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness. It blends easily into the spiritual journey of the Christian life.. The Rosary, though clearly Marian in character, is at heart a Christocentric prayer. In the sobriety of its elements, it has all the depth of the Gospel message in its entirety, of which it can be said to be a compendium. It is an echo of the prayer of Mary, her perennial Magnificat for the work of the redemptive Incarnation which began in her virginal womb. With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of Christ and to experience the depths of his love. Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.
~Pope John Paul II on the importance of the Rosary

I used to have a rosary (pearl white, the standard ones) and i would bring it to the weekly rosary prayer meeting at my uncle’s place, he was house group leader or something something back then. Though I was never a Catholic but I do take part in rosary prayers.

Errmm… ehhehee but im not too sure where I placed the rosary…. maybe hidden somewhere in my room.

Anyway, that is one awesome piece u have there !! U are darn right, it is very inviting even by just looking at it.

Robin, I didn’t know that you pray the rosary. Did you leave your pearl white rosary in Australia? You can always get a decent one in St Joseph’s Cathedral Gift Shop if you want.

Yeah! The sapphire rosary is really nice and I am happy I bought it though it is somewhat dear (RM26). This is the first time I take out my Canon A400 to shoot here shoot there since Chinese New Year. Haha… How’s my skill?

Hey daniel, we share the same birth month, birth stone! :) I’ve always love blue colour (the main reason I support Chelsea FC LOL) .. and I like roses .. blue rose was what I used for my identity/avatar back in my IRC-active years hehe …

melbie, another September kid. I used to fall for blue back then. Somehow I got tired of blue so I ventured into colours like green, brown, red, pink and white. Occasionally I still go for blue as it is a down to earth colour, soothing and relaxing.

Chelsea is one point ahead of Arsenal and five points behind Man U. Most of my friends are either Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal supporters… Seldom do I meet a Chelsea supporter. As for me, I seldom watch football except World Cup.

yeah, not many people know i pray the rosary, but i have not done so in a long time. my uncle’s family has a strong influence on mine, and my mum was from St 3, so yeah, there goes the catholic connection.

I go to St thom now, but I will still defend the Roman Catholic whenever someone badmouth anything about it, which happens from time to time.

Aaaahhh.. u should use cam more often, A400 is a really good cam, it may be old, but it serves its purpose very well. Plus, it takes awesome macro shots.
