Get up, dress up, speak up, show up

I remember my English teacher once said you have to attract those reading your composition with appetizer. My mum, who taught English before she retired, told me that. Writing composition was really a pain in the arsse but not when you start with appetizers.

First impression counts. Your every move and language determines whether you will be respected or thrown out of the window by those observing you.

Always show your manners and be courteous. There’s nothing more important than being polite. You don’t need to wear expensive clothing to impress others, all you need is your own style.

You have to put on your best smile when entertaining your friends or guests. Don’t make yourself look silly with those bitter face, it won’t do you any good.

If you think a smile is not enough, then laugh. Tell the world how happy you are.

If you are feeling happy, sing. If you are sad, sing. If you don’t feel like singing, listen to music then.

Be natural. You are at your best.

Remember to celebrate your own success and someone else’s success. Such good things are to be shared and cherished together. Most of all, give thanks with a grateful heart.

Show your affection towards your loved ones. A bouquet of flower, a simple “I love you”, a warm hug or a small gift may brighten up someone’s gloomy days.

Sometimes, don’t just be an adult, be a kid! Try to be funny! You are never too old for that!

Last of all, record down all those beautiful memories in words. You’ll be glad you did that, for when you are old you know you were young once and never regretted spending your youth unwisely.

One day… You will have your own family. Remember that your children are not born to succeed in academic only, they are to be taught about many aspects of life. Teach them about faith in God, manners, friendship, and a lot more which you have acquired along your journey. Your kids will appreciate them.

God, thanks for giving me a nice dad and mum, sisters, uncles and aunties and plentiful of cousins.

Let the music heal your soul

Music gives you happiness and also sadness but it also heals your soul. - Bravo All Star

Amidst the busy days and brain-straining weeks, music and books have become my companion. Human comes second after them. Sometimes when I am just not in my best position to mix around, I choose to let myself be accompanied by music and books instead of telling people how I feel.

My mood swing cycle just arrived. From my observation, it just happen naturally every three to four months. Usually I need more than one week to get away from it. I am not sure if any other guys have this kind of issue bothering them. Guys never share their feelings, what more to say talk about it. So I don’t know bout others.

I have been always a moody person. Whenever I am moody, I just don’t talk much, I look tired, I get annoyed easily, I don’t care about my “high-standard” image and most of all I LIKE TO BE ALONE.

Contrary to the phrase “get up, dress up, speak up and show up”, I only managed to get up each day but not really dress up nor speak up nor show up. Gosh… I hope this too will pass. I just want to be the usual confident and upbeat Daniel. For now, I will just let the music heal my soul.
