Emerging Influential Blogs 2008

Janette Toral is planning to release the Emerging Influential blog project of 2008. Paolo Medoza of BackLineMedia has submitted his list to the organizer. I am picking my own Top 10 emerging influential blogs to be nominated for 2008.

I nominated the following blogs because these bloggers are gradually gaining a considerable amount of readership and influence. Most of all, these are blogs are young as they started blogging anytime from July 1, 2007 to the present.

We are seeing new blogs surfacing each day but the notable consistently good ones are not many. The term consistently good means that post after post these young authors hold fast to their high standard in coming up with good posts and never fail to impress me.

Having complimented the consistently good young bloggers out there, I would like to share with you the reasons why some blogs are not listed although they are generally good, but not consistently good. Simple, just don’t give in to writing rants though it is tempting, I know that. The moment they gave in to it, they really fall behind the foundation of blogging.

I would like to share with you what I meant by the foundation of blogging. It is a potpourri of sharing with others interesting and genuine information; quality images; positive words; argumentative yet not ranting; interactive among authors and readers; and worth spending the time to read.

With such short introduction, I now nominate the following blogs for the Emerging Influential blog project of 2008.

BackLinemedia: America’s Most Trusted News for Cool People.. and it’s Free
Clarence-chua.com: A learning entrepreneur in web based business and marketing.
Suituapui: Was crazy and is still crazy all these years.
Melbie: Vague reveries
Man-D: Unpretentious me
Alifebe: Life beside the edge
Sambaldeli: Sambal Delivery Post
Blackpeanut: The world, viewed from my eyes, felt by my soul.

The following blogs were updated on July 27, 2008:
Jayce Ooi: Photography, programming, technology, finance, anything =)
iCalvyn: IT Engineer’s Blog

Keep up the good job for those who I have lined up! I still have another two more slots.

PS: I wanted to nominate some good blogs but they started writing before July 1, 2007. I can’t nominate you.

Test your style sense

Being a man nowadays is a lot more complicated than being a man in the past. Men not only have to strive to survive in this society but they also have to be self-concious especially when look and style is of concern.

Talking about look and style I have a good recommendation for you guys. Go and have a try at Men’sHealth website and you will certainly know where does your style sense stand.

I picked five shirt-tie-jacket combinations and fashion director Bryan Boyé graded my style sense in just less than one minute for each combination. For the five combinations which I selected, I am proud to say my choices are good enough!

Neutral tone and stripes

Choice 1

Always blues and grays

Choice 2

Classic combination of blue and gray

Choice 3

Tonal difference looks interesting

Choice 4

Combining three patterns, bold!

Choice 5

Now people, you have to start believing in my sense of style. Why not you have a try and share with us your choice of combinations. You can linked me up so that I can trace your post (if you intend to write a post out of this).
