DiGi’s new reload promotion

Reload Once and Stay Connected for One Year, hails DiGi! This is the latest counter attack from DiGi against Maxis’s Hotlink 365. I did a brief study on the both plans offered by DiGi and Hotlink. Just before I start feeding you with the facts, I want to have my conclusion mentioned here - go for DiGi, it’s worth it! As I go along with the numbers you will know why I concluded that DiGi is the winner. Just believe me will you? I don’t know why I just love to criticize Hotlink and Celcom while favouring DiGi. Being an independent observer, here’s my thoughts.

Let’s talk about Hotlink 365:

You need to perform a reload of RM33 to keep your line activated annually. The RM33 is an annual fee, meaning you won’t be able to have this fee included as your top-up value, it’s a fee! Furthermore, one has to accumulate top up of RM30 or more in the first six months to enjoy the 365 validity days. Say, if you did not fulfill the condition by Day 180, your Hotlink 365 subscription (and the remaining 180 validity days) will expire immediately.

Forget about Hotlink, let’s see what DiGi Prepaid has to offer:

You reload RM100 on your DiGi Prepaid and stay active for 1 year (equivalent to 365 days’ validity). The RM100 which you top-up is not a fee, hence you can use the RM100 which you actually reloaded. No subscription is required. You just need to reload RM100 to enjoy the 1 year validity. Of course there’s a time frame for its customers to reload, but still that’s fair right? DiGi gives its customers a period one month to perform this reload so that they won’t miss this opportunity.

The promotion starts from 23rd July till 31st August 2008. Wait no more!

I am expecting that this promotion would undoubtedly attract users who ordinarily use less than RM30 per month. I am even expecting more prepaid subscribers switching to DiGi once Mobile Number Portability is introduced. Let’s say bye bye.

“This is the first and only offer (to-date) to prepaid users in Malaysia for a one-year validity without having to pay an outright access fee. Currently, operators require the equivalent of a RM1/day top-up for users to keep their remaining balance (versus DiGi’s implied equivalent of a 27sen/day top-up).”

For postpaid subscribers, don’t feel neglected, we still have the new postpaid plans introduced earlier this month. Let’s say hello to the yellow fella. ;)

Kill two birds with one stone

I just finished the so-called one-word tag from Cibol, but then there came another two. The first one is from DiDi while the second one is from Isaac. Let me kill two birds with one stone.

Before I proceed, you may wonder why I even bother to answer tags. I see things in two ways just like a coin has two faces. Although answering tags may be somewhat tedious and sometimes unrelated but the joy of answering tags is greater than rejecting tags from your friends which they ping you with sincerity. Believe me. Not only I get to disclose to you a little bit more about who I am or what I like/dislike, this way I also receive my friend with open arms.

Here it goes, let me kill DiDi’s tag first:

1. When you buy a greetings card, are the words or the picture more important to you?
I go for the overal design and combination of colours.

2. What’s your favorite kind of cake?
Sarawak’s Kek Lapis.

Definitely Christmas!

Planning to go to Thailand with a few close friends but not sure if the trip will materialize.

In the church where I make my vow “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish ’till death do us part.”

8. What’s the most romantic thing that’s ever happened to you?
Only heaven knows.

9. What’s your favorite girls’ name?
Elizabeth.

10. What’s your favorite boys’ name?
Jonathan.

11. Which celebrity would you like a dream date with?
