A happy drug for the soul

I walked out from the cinema with a great smile on my face. This is the first time I have ever seen so many movie-goers hanging a satisfied smile on their hogging cheeks (young people) or sagging cheeks (old people).

This movie is built about ABBA songs and it tells the story of a daughter finding his real father. There was this slight mention of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love.

Staged at Kalokairi (a made-up name), the real island known as Skopelos, is the island of Mama Mia! Situated in the Aegean Sea off the coast of mainland Greece, the only mode of transportation is via an hour-long ferry journey. Kalokairi in Greek means “summer”!

Meryl Streep played a very good act as Donna. She is no doubt the party queen and one who takes command of the scene. Amanda Seyfried who played Sophie on the other hand, has big round pretty gazing eyes. And I think Pierce Brosnan (the ex-Bond) sings badly and has no expression. No more spoilers, I am going to end here.

Here’s a collection of the best songs from the movie Mama Mia!

Some of the songs that really kept me glued to the whole movie were Mama Mia, Dancing Queen, Honey Honey, The Winner Takes It All, Chiquitita, and Super Trouper. The best of all is Super Trouper, which I really imagine myself partying with all the disco beams.

Ciao. I have spent my holidays doing nothing (only lazing around). I need to be a Super Trouper for the next coming months. Trouper means “a person who is reliable and uncomplaining and hard working”. Expect less frequent updates from me.

I have a dream… To get my research done by mid-2009!

M » I got bored at the married part. Lol. By the way, the song The Winner Takes It All is darn nice! The power of her voice was amazing and captivating.

PS: Let me know when you are starring in a musical drama. I will get a ticket to support! True…

keeyit » Highly recommended if you like musical and romantic movie. Not that I really like romantic movie but this one is just good.

drumsticks » You know? I compared the songs sang by them with ABBA’s. There were some slight modification in the lyrics (to suit the movie) and the voice is kinda different. I think they actually sang.

anitamukah » Lots of memories when listening to the songs. What? No cinema in Mukah? Request our CM to build one. Haha. Well, in this case, you can always get a DVD. =)

DD » That was a swift and fast for them to take Mama Mia off the screen in Kuching. Like what you said, there is always the DVDs. Remember to get the original version.

suituapui » Yeah! I remember you posted it! Even TheStar is giving away free ticket. I will try my luck after dinner, see if I can get the freebies. Anyway, do you want to give me a treat? Hehe. I do drop by but sometimes did not comment. Don’t be sad ya papa.
