[feeling | fresh]
Raya holiday just ended, this then means that it is time to get real, fast and furious. No more staying in disillusioned and distracted life but have to get to the ground fast. For as long as I could remember I have been staying six feet off the ground for quite a while.
During the holiday I slept like a log, watched six episodes of Prison Break 4 and three episodes of Heroes 3, and finished the six latest Naruto series. Perhaps the best medicine was after watching Mama Mia!
There is this happy effect in me. Once I got happy, I will be happy and motivated for quite some time. God knows what happen after next? As of now since I am still in the hype I should accomplish all my works within the shortest time frame.
Having catching up with my friends and seniors during Jully’s wedding also made my day. The bride was brilliantly beautiful. Fr Joseph Heng presided the wedding mass held in Air Salak. The priest asked the bridegroom why he chose to marry his bride, he answered “Because of love!” I think Jully must be extremely happy to hear that.
After the wedding I managed to meet most of the long lost friends. It’s good to learn that Dominic and Cecilia are taking good care of their 22-months old daughter Irene. Dominic said to me this, “The more tired you are, the research which you are doing is going to pay off!” That was inspiring.
Caught up with Anna and she told me she’s going to finish her experiment by end of this year. Crap! I must not lose to a lady. Sia soi… That gave me another boost to work harder! Male chauvinism will be the word to describe me best in this context!
It’s good to know that David and Jolene, Jos and Catherine are going to get married next month. More ang paos to give away. I do not feel the pain of money slipping away mainly because getting married is a time to be merry and happy for the couple. I share their happiness so money is not a major drawback for me not to attend one’s wedding.
Back to the wedding, the reception was held at Equatorial Hotel, Malacca. Splendid and spacious ball room! Just my liking. Pardon me because this post is so filled with words, and only words you shall read because this young man is always forgetful.
There were a lot of ladies in the wedding but at one glance most of them are in their late twenties or early thirties. Too bad, just not my taste. I enjoyed the food and drink. I could not resist those wine and Martel so I consumed four glasses of wine and one glass of Martel. I was so hot after that! One thing for sure, I was not drunk (my face never turn red no matter how much I drink) but that night I really slept well.
On what happened yesteday in my Form 2 class, I tried a different method to deliver Catechism. I know it gets boring sometimes when the teacher does the talking a lot. Yesterday what we did was we had a bible sharing session. Since it is a sharing session, most of them have to talk. (I shall elaborate on this in the upcoming post)
Bishop Paul Tan then celebrated Mass with us. His sermon was very thought-provoking and deeply rooted on the theology of Saint Paul (Apostle of the Gentiles). I consider myself quite well versed with the Book of Acts as I attended a short course on the early churches a few months ago. Thus, I managed to grab what the Bishop preached.
Everytime after Mass when I get back to my room, I always have this strange feeling. Usually I have a very reluctant feeling of Monday coming, I guess it is what we acknowledge as Monday Blue. Contrary to what I experienced usually, yesterday I felt so at peace. Peace is like a river flowing into my heart.
Went to the Postgraduate Room today but only found my Libyan friend Ahmad Budiea there. Initially I only thought of wishing him a Selamat Hari Raya but we ended up talking about research, PhD, food, Lybia, Sarawak, Islam, and Christianity for a whopping two hours. My gosh!
The flow of idea is flowing madly, and my mind is clearer after the holiday. I really feel like a better person. Now my only concern is that the other half of my research material arrive faster! God, please make those contractors deliver the material by this month. Thank you so much.
Peace, love and lol,
Daniel Liew
