Dinner at Italiannies

Everyone loves good food. Everyone likes the kick of hanging out at the restaurant once in a while. That being said, being no exception, I love food too, especially those served in a rather cosy and elegant interior.
It was Zuddin’s birthday, my next room neighbour, so we decided to eat out. His birthday falls on 8th while mine 10th of September. That night, between Tony Roma’s and Italiannies, it was a hard choice to make. Mid Valley Gardens is good in picking tenants.
Because of the month of Ramadhan Tony Roma’s was full so we made it to Italiannies. It’s my first time here. At Italiannies, it is said that “So Good So Much. So Share!”
Italiannies Lamb Shank was Zuddin’s choice while I opted for Italiannies Roasted Chicken for a change. Drool flooded our mouths when the food was served.

The lamb shank looks wonderful. It is tender and easy to chew with. Once it’s in your mouth it melts easily, I know I am exaggerating but it does.

I’ve always love Nando’s Peri Peri but Italiannies beat them. The spices and dried chillies perfected the taste. The tenderness of the meat is wonderful, the chicken must be virgin, and it has to be.
Since it was a birthday treat, there have to be something special. I asked the waitress if Italiannies has any surprise for birthday boy. It turned out that they gave him a bread pudding and the crew actually sung him a birthday song.
Impressed I am. This makes Italiannies lives up to the name “So Good So Much. So Share!”

If you are wondering about the price, it's well priced about 100 bucks for a lamb shank, a roasted chicken and two shakes. The bread pudding is free.
Even when I am writing this there's another birthday celebration waiting for me at the Gardens. Thank you mates! I'm coming, I'm coming!
It all began with love
On this night in 1984, the moon was at its brightest in lieu of the Chinese mid autumn festival. Friends and families found ways to be together. Children with lanterns paraded the streets like little fire flies everywhere. That was a night to remember, of course, for a young couple.
Back then when my grandpas and grandmas were alive, our family always had gathering. The family tradition never dies until today. This night was the only time my dad and mum missed the family gathering. Grandpa, grandpa, uncles and aunts were anxiously waiting for us to start dinner.
You know, back then, mobile phone was a luxury. We did not own one so it was hard for my parents to inform that they weren’t joining the family gathering. As much as I could remember, the horizon in front of me was totally dark. I could not speak nor hear anything. Comprehension was like the Milky Way, I could not understand what was going on.
All I knew was the constant push to get out of the dark world exhausted me. I often imagine, accurate or not, mum was a good pusher. She pushed me out to this world, she still pushes me to do something that is for my own good and never fails to lift me up.
Many days, my mum smiled. Many days, my dad smiled. Many days, my relatives smiled. From what little information I gathered, I was born into this world, weighed around 3.0-3.5 kilograms, and was named Daniel Liew.
That’s how it all began.. .
If you are good at Math you can boldly get the answer to how young I am this year. How young I am doesn’t matter, the thing that matter to me most is to see my parents healthy in their golden age. As for me it will be finding that special someone.
Happy Birthday Daniel!
The ants have been very helpful in arranging those alphabets for the header. The ants left the "W" tilted because it's too heavy. The caterpillars left behind a green trail before transforming into butterflies. Overall, it was a great experience working with the ants and the caterpillars. Experience is life changing.
A birthday, three cakes
It started out as a secret, lots of unknown recipe in the Secret Recipe cake. At first glance, it looked tempting to know what Grace was holding. Was that a blueberry cheese cake or a chocolate indulgence? Just by looking at the red bag, we knew it' must be something big!

We were sitting and enjoying the atmosphere at McDonald's. The light dimmed, contemporary music played, and windy breeze blowing at us. Just as the clock ticked towards 00:00 September 10, 2008, my friends had a 10 seconds countdown before 12am struck.

So, this is the cake - the Chocolate Indulgence with the word HANDSOME DANIEL LIEW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! written on top of it. Haha. Two bigger candles and four smaller candles flickering bringing light to the darkness.
Here's the birthday boy looking so happy in front of his birthday cake. Making wishes, wishing that he is a wishing star.

Crap! Try read the red-coloured word on my shirt, it looks like "Sex First". That's funny! They even made me kissed the cake. Ewww...

Come on. This Chocolate cake is nice. Laura is devouring the whole piece of cake, it's like now you see and now you don't. Look at her, enjoying the cake piece by piece.

Jennifer, on the other hand, was a deep thinker. As the cake goes into her mouth, she tasted it with all the senses available in her tongue. "Taste great," she said. Bernard (our pianist, guitarist and drummist) agrees with her.

Konica! Nikon! Canon! Olympus! Smile! The famous peace "V" sign.

Let's take another shot. Bernard, Laura, Dora, Irene, Grace, Raphael, Jennifer, Richard, Vincent, Daniel, Edward and Simon posing the boxing shot. Photo taken just before we left McDonald's.

Yesterday night, Jon's mum (Aunt Man Ling) invited me over for a dinner. She said she made something tasty for me. I am not sure if you have ever tasted a coffee flavoured mooncake clad with chocolate. For goodness sake, this is something nice! If you would like to place order for this special mooncake (for those staying in Skudai area), please let me know.

I have a confession to make, this is my first jelly-pandan-cake. Usually, I get the chance to taste the normal fresh cream cake or full cream cake but not jelly cake. Looks nice and taste nice!

If you are wondering who made this cake, it's Jon's mum! She's a great cook and she bakes lots of things. Here's Jon, Jon's mum, Jessie and me.
