Chinese New Year TVCs
恭祝各位牛转乾坤!

Chinese New Year, to me, when I was a child, was about buying new clothes and eating junk food. Weeks of pre-CNY preparation to decorate our house in order to receive guests, making cookies and cakes to serve our guests, and most of all receiving ang pows (red packets).
This particular year, as I climb up the stairs of age I begin to see things more differently. Chinese New Year has become more like a gathering of relatives all flocking back to Kuching (my dear hometown) just to be with everyone. That's the spirit of Chinese New Year in our family. Being not able to go back for CNY, I understand now the precious moment of going back home for a reunion.
Petronas' festive television commercials (TVCs) somehow made me emo. Just spend some time watching them and catch the essence of the message the TVCs trying to bring out. You'll understand why I became emo.
If only I could... (2009)
go back home for a reunion dinner... (2008)
with my parents and grandparents... (2007)
when my return would bring joy... (2006)
and love takes care of the rest... (2005)
Did you become emo? I know Aunt Helen (the one who's behind this blog checking my English) will love this post as she previously loved my Hari Raya's collection of Petronas TVCs so much.
Here's something not to miss!《庆祝 - My ASTRO 大合唱》
You might have heard of this song whenever you tune in to MyFM. Wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year from Daniel Liew.
